Dive Torch

Postby jasonbuzz » Mon Sep 04, 2017 6:32 pm

Just wondering what sort of dive torch to get for diving for crays.
Too bright spooks them.
I have a 450 lumen narrow beam but thinking its a bit too bright?

Cheers.

We use these and haven't had any trouble with Crays running away! Maybe we blind then.

I did buy a couple of sets of rechargeable batteries from battery world that last heaps longer than the ones supplied, and a better charger.

I don't find that a bright torch will spook crays, I have used a variety of torches over the years with no issues.

Ikelite's are good. Used them for years. Even found one under water once, all covered in barnacles. Switched it on.....away it went!!
